Hotel Parking Assessment – San Francisco, CA

McClain Consulting Services was recently awarded a project performing a Pre-Acquisition Parking Assessment at a bay area hotel property when our client became aware of a discrepancy between the reported number of parking spaces at the site and the required number of off-street parking spaces required by the city. 

During our assessment, we visited the site, physically counted the current number of parking spaces, identified changes to the original parking lot design, and worked with the local planning department directly on both the deficiencies and the possible solutions.

In evaluating the existing parking design, we looked at the design drawings of the original 1985 construction which featured the correct number of allotted spaces. We discovered that dozens of parking spaces had been lost through the years – through parking lot redesigns or by converting parking spaces to storage area – at a rate of roughly 3-4 parking spaces every few years!

We were able to provide our client with a concise report that outlined the facts and gave them a complete understanding of the situation as well as presenting various solutions to the non-compliant parking at the property.
